sunday night

So what does Sunday night mean? Sunday used to be the first day of the week, since the Sabbath was always on Saturday. Jesus rose from the dead on the first day of the week (Sunday). I think we got lost somehow. Somewhere in translation, we moved from the importance of "Sunday as the first day of the week following the Sabbath" and moved into "Sunday as just another day". Monday is now the all important first day of the week, following Sunday, which may or may not be the Sabbath. For some, it certainly is. Today was my Sabbath. But on the way to worship, we passed Best Buy where streams of people clad in jeans and sneakers made their way in and out of the big box electronic store. They were certainly buying new technology, or maybe more entertainment to take home for their Sunday afternoon. Now it is Sunday night and I'm sitting here writing about it. I want tonight to be restful, and I want to be ready for the day tomorrow. I think God would want me to think about His glory in all this, and be His conduit to the world when I get to work tomorrow, so I'm spending some time tonight with Him after I finish writing this first post. So, for Sunday night, that's it. I hope it's refreshing for you, and I hope your week goes well.
